Gun violence has taken too many lives in our community, and continues to do so. If we want to get serious about getting guns off the street, we have to put resources into doing so through programs that make sense.
WE MUST CREATE "NO QUESTIONS ASKED" GUN DROP-OFF CENTERS OUTSIDE OF POLICE PRECINCTS AND IMPROVE INCENTIVES FOR GETTING GUNS OFF THE STREET.
Criminal justice and gun violence are inextricably linked. If we want people to get out of the street life, we need to concentrate resources on strong paths out that include re-entry programs, violence interruption, and alternatives to incarceration.
